A pirate-themed family fun day is to be held on Burnham-On-Sea beach next month.

The free family event is to be held from 12 noon to 6pm on Sunday August 12th on the town’s beach next to The Pavillion.

Events being lined up include a fancy dress competition with prizes for the best male and female pirates, adults and kids.

“There will also be a walk the plank game, a treasure hunt, a cannonball blast attraction and pirate ship wars,” organiser Ian Jefferies told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We hope lots of people will join in and bring along a picnic and enjoy a fun afternoon on the beach with family and friends.”

Anyone who wishes to help or has ideas is welcome to attend an organisers meeting being held at the town’s Bay Centre in Cassis Close on 19th July at 7pm or by calling 07724995631.
