Fundraisers at Burnham-On-Sea’s Victoria Hotel have this week presented a bumper cheque to a local hospice charity.
Weston Hospicecare has been handed a huge £2,373.62 by the team, pictured, after a successful period of fundraising activities.
Debra Hudson recently had her head shaved and Ashley Brown had his beard shaved to raise funds with the help of barber Ellis Paul.
Fundraising raffles and bucket collections were also held while many regulars took part in a spin bike cycling challenge, supported by Burnham’s Fit4All.
Debra says: “My mum is bravely fighting cancer and I sadly lost a friend to cancer before so am keen to help raise funds.”
The Victoria Hotel’s Mandy Pike says: “Our customers have all been amazing, supporting the wonderful work of Weston Hospicecare. A big thank you goes to them all.”
Esther Biggs from Weston Hospicecare adds: “A huge thank you goes to all the Victoria for raising such a fantastic amount – we are very grateful and the funds will help patients and families in the surrounding area.”
