Tributes paid to Burnham-On-Sea woman with cystic fibrosis

-

Tributes have been paid to a popular 23-year-old Burnham-On-Sea cystic fibrosis sufferer who has died.

Georgia Lavender worked as a carer at Burnham Nursing Home until she became too ill to continue.

She was taken ill on August 30th and was airlifted to Musgrove Hospital where she was put on life support but died several days later.

Friends and family members gathered at Burnham’s BAY Centre to remember Georgia, a former Bridgwater College student, and lit more than 150 lanterns in her memory.

Her funeral took place on Thursday at Burnham’s St Andrew’s Church where friends read tributes and poems.

Scores of tributes have been made to the “caring, bubbly girl who loved living” and her family has thanked all those who have provided support and messages.
