Hands of Change set to launch Burnham-On-Sea drop-in sessions

-

A Burnham-On-Sea community group is starting regular community drop-in sessions from this week with the aim of helping residents of all ages meet each other.

Hands of Change, which is based in Burnham-On-Sea, launched last year to encourage more local social interaction and help people in need.

Helen Brodie, spokeswoman for Hands of Change, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “These sessions are for everyone in the community young and old. People can meet up with current friends and make new ones too we hope.”

“Some ideas we already have for activities are a children’s clothes swap, guest speakers and we as always are happy to act as sign posts for other community groups helping people find the information they need.”

She added: “Our host volunteers next week will be using some of their time to start learning British sign language. We look forward to seeing these sessions adapt to how the community want them to run.”

The first drop-in session will be held this Wednesday, March 1st, from 9am-11am and will then run on alternate weeks at the Bay Centre in Cassis Close, Burnham-On-Sea.
