A project to install over 30 signs like this one across Burnham-On-Sea as part of a new history trail has been given a cash boost this week.

Burnham and Highbridge Town Council has given a grant of almost £630 to North Sedgemoor Local History Group to help fund the signs, which will link the town’s Heritage Trail from later this summer.

There will 34 signs in total, each mounted in a stainless steel frame, that will placed on historic buildings and heritage places across Burnham.

Eleven of the signs will run along the sea wall between the Coastguard Station and Sea View Road.

The group’s Chairman, John Strickland, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the grant is “very welcome and a significant step towards the launch of the trail.”

The group intends to launch the new trail, and a new history website, on August 23rd.
