Highbridge held a special event to turn on its town centre Christmas lights on Saturday (December 1st).

Churchfield School Choir performed songs and carols in the porch of the community centre, watched by a large number of spectators and families.

Mayor Cllr Bill Hancock then led the countdown to the illumination of the festive lights along Market Street and the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree.

A popular Christmas Craft and Gift Fair was also held in the Community Hall which proved a hit with visitors.

The Mayor thanked Mike Murphy, Chairman of Highbridge Chamber, for his work in ensuring the display is again a success.
