Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club held its annual presentation night on Saturday (February 25th) when members received awards, trophies and certificates in recognition of their work over the past year.

Burnham’s Deputy Mayor Ken Smout joined Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop in handing out the awards during a ceremony in Highbridge Social Club, pictured here.

Mark praised the club’s members for their “huge support and dedication” in building their float, called One Way Ticket, and he also thanked the club’s financial supporters over the past year.

Trophies were presented to Lottie Nicholson for most promising member, Sophie Butt for best girl, Bradley and Luke for best boys, Finley for best newcomer, Jess Buck for most improved. The Chairman’s Choice trophy went to Sophie Butt.

Awards were also given to Charlotte B, Sophie, Gemma, Bethany W, Lauren, Amy, Jasmine, Finley, Bethany H, Alisha, Joe L, Joe H, Bradley, Jess, Adam, Charlotte G, Luke, Lottie, Sian, Daisy and Leah.

The club also handed over a cheque for £300 to Cancer Research following a collection during the club’s Christmas charity float collection last December.
