Consultation meeting held in Burnham over expansion of Hinkley Point

-

A lively debate over the possible expansion of Hinkley Point nuclear power station took place at a public consultation meeting in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday night (November 5th).

The event was held in the Princess Hall and was organised by South West Planning Aid, an independent charity that supports local communities on planning issues.

Organiser Barry Pearce told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We want to ensure everyone has a voice on these major proposals and there was some good discussion on both sides of the debate about nuclear power. All the opinions will be fed back into the planning process.”

Energy company EDF will be holding its own consultation exhibition on the Hinkley Point proposals on Friday December 11th in The Princess from 2pm-8pm.
