Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater rescued a horse stuck in a water-filled ditch in Lympsham on Wednesday morning (April 4th).

A fire engine from Burnham, plus a specialist rescue team from Bridgwater, were sent to the incident in West Road, Lympsham at 10.38am.

“The crews confirmed that the horse’s vet was in attendance and had sedated the horse,” spokesman Paul Slaven told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Crews set up strops and lines with a tractor in order to attempt to pull the horse from the ditch.”

The horse was successfully rescued from the ditch before being checked over and assessed to be in good health despite its ordeal.
