Burnham-On-Sea’s Victoria Hotel music day raises £783 for charity

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Victoria Hotel has raised hundreds of pounds for a town charity by holding a day-long music fundraiser.

Saturday’s event coincided with Burnham-On-Sea food festival, and saw a great line-up of local music bands performing at the hotel in Victoria Street.

Held in aid of In Charley’s Memory, the day featured live music from Burnham Rock Choir, Snappa, Bre & Tim Pitman, Becky (Amy Winehouse), Bostock Breeze, Devils Advocats, Talk Show Hosts, Tim Dean and Rude Awakening.

Dawn Carey, the charity’s Operations Manager, told Burnnham-On-Sea.com: “We are so lucky that we have wonderful people who understand and support what we do here at ICM.”

“Funding will always be a problem so it’s events like this that help keep the charity going, not just on the day but continued support we get throughout the year.”

“Sean, Landlord, does so much for ICM we can’t thank him enough. This whole event was put together by him and Leon, who along with the bands, we would like to say a massive thank you. The event raised £783.90.”

“Special thanks also to Dave Perry and Nigel Gulliford for the sound and lights and the volunteers who came out on the day to help us collect.”

In Charley’s Memory was set up after 18 year-old Charley took his own life in September 2014. The charity now supports and helps hundreds of young people and those affected by mental health.
