A star of several leading West End stage shows visited Highbridge at the weekend to hold a series of theatre workshops.
Jon Tsouras, who has appeared in top musicals, including Singing in the Rain and Jesus Christ Superstar, was the VIP at the workshops at Churchfield School.
Organiser Siobhan Johnson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re honoured to have had Jon at these special musical theatre workshops in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society.”
“Jon is a top west end performer originally from Canada where he trained at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and then continued his career into the West End.”
“He has appeared all over the world in top musicals and has just recently finished playing ‘Corny Collins’ in the National UK Tour of ‘Hairspray’ which recently visited The Bristol Hippodrome with Claire Sweeney and Peter Duncan.”
She added: “Jon’s talent is infectious and shared with his husband, the West End and Eastenders star John Partridge. They both took a workshop here in Burnham last year.”
Jon held two workshops on Saturday at the Highbridge school which was attended by children and adults.
He held a ‘Hairspray’ themed workshop in which he taught songs, movement and choreography from the recent UK tour.
“Jon passed on all his experience and knowledge of performance skills in musical theatre, from projection to stage presence, and it was such a superb day,” she added.
“It was great to have such an amazingly talented performer teaching the greatest of songs from such a fantastic and iconic show!”
