Burnham-On-Sea’s MP and Mayor have opened a brand new kitchen at a school in the town.

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and Nursery celebrated the official opening of their school kitchen with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

MP James Heappey and Mayor Michael Clarke presided over the events and enjoyed a celebration lunch with members of the School Council, members of the Governing Body and Headteacher Patrick Harland.

“The school is currently serving daily hot meals to their pupils after a new kitchen was designed and built during the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2014-15 academic year,” said a spokesperson.
