Six members of staff from Highbridge’s King Alfred School have received long service awards this week.

Office Manager Lynne Bawden, Head of Learning Support Sandra Lloyd, Head of Drama Isobel Morgan, PE/Sport Co-ordinator Sarah Mussett, PE/Head of Year 7 Helen Pardey and Maths/Head of Year 10 Nigel Storey received awards for service to the local authority of 25 years or more.

They each received a commemorative clock from Somerset County Councillor John Edney and John Kirby, Lead Commissioner for Children and Learning.

The presentations, held at at Dillington House near Ilminster, were followed by drinks and a buffet in the main house.

Headteacher Andy Owen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a superb evening and a great occasion when our staff received the recognition for all their work in the field of education. We are very proud of them all and congratulated them.”
