Tourist land train plans for Burnham seafront get council backing

-

Proposals for a new seafront land train to be introduced in Burnham-On-Sea as a tourist attraction received the backing town councillors this week.

The plans for a children’s land train on The Esplanade near the Bay View Cafe, pictured above, were considered during a meeting of the council’s Town Improvements Committee on Wednesday evening (February 23rd).

Cllr Joe Leach, who is a member of the committee, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There was plenty of support for the plans, which could be a positive addition to the seafront as a tourist attraction.”

“While the committee agreed in principal to the scheme, no final decision was taken because the size of the area that the attraction will occupy was not clear. The attraction is similar to go-karts and will be fenced off.”

A final decision on the plans is likely to be made by the council in March.
