Puzzled staff at a pub near Burnham-On-Sea have this week issued an appeal for the return of this wood carving of a lion, which was stolen at the weekend.
The ornate seven inch wide carving was removed from a fireplace in the bar of the Watchfield Inn.
Licensee Jane Berryman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s puzzled us why someone would want to remove an item like this.”
“It has been there for many years and has left a big gap in what is a beautiful old fireplace.”
“We are very keen to get it returned and would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows its whereabouts.”
