Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club appeals for Quantocks walkers

-

Members of clubs and charities in the Burnham-On-Sea area which need funding are being invited to pull on their walking boots and rucksacks to take part in a sponsored walk in the Quantocks on Sunday May 22nd.

Organised by Burnham-On-Sea and District Lions Club, the sponsored walk’s main purpose will be to support the work of the Children’s Hospice South West.

However, participants will be able to retain half of their sponsorship money to support local charities and good causes of their choice in the Burnham area.

There will be two walks with distances of 6 miles and 3 miles and members of the public are welcome to take part.

One of the organisers, Les Barber, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The walks will be signposted and marshalled with Wessex ambulance attending. There will also be a barbecue at the end. It will be great fun way to spend a sunday and raise money.”

Over the years more than £30,000 has been raised for Children’s Hospice South West. For sponsor forms and more details, call Greg Kelloway on 01278 795393.
