A road in Burnham-On-Sea was closed on Saturday afternoon (November 5th) following a seafront crash.
Several residents reported seeing a silver Audi being pursued at speed by Police in Marine Drive and then along The Esplanade before its driver lost control in Maddock’s Slade.
Eyewitnesses said the vehicle hit a pavement curb, then the sea wall, before coming to rest in Maddock’s Slade against a wall with a damaged wheel, as pictured below.
Officers sealed off the road for over an hour until a recovery service removed the vehicle just before 3pm. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing. No-one was seriously hurt.
