Three-week roadworks project to repair pavements in Highbridge begins

-

Major roadworks to repair pavements in parts of Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea are set to begin today (Monday, July 28th), with work continuing for the next three weeks until August 15th.

The project, led by Somerset Council’s highways team, will focus on the stretch between Marine Drive in Burnham and Church Street in Highbridge, including the junction of Burnham Road and Old Burnham Road.

A spokesperson from Somerset Council told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We do our utmost to minimise disruption where possible, and thank residents and motorists for their patience.”

The council says the work has been timed to coincide with the school summer holidays, while Churchfield and King Alfred Schools are closed to try and lessen the impact.

Multi-way traffic signals will be in place throughout the work to “manage vehicle flow and reduce congestion.”
