Highbridge gymnastics club celebrates £23,000 equipment boost

-

A Highbridge gymnastics club has received a major funding boost that will help it buy much-needed new equipment.

Monarchs Gymnastics Club, which opened its new premises in Brue Way on Highbridge’s Walrow Industrial Estate earlier this year, has received grants totalling £23,000 from Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, Sedgemoor District Council, a Highbridge Community Fund and British Gymnastics.

“This welcome funding is enabling us to purchase equipment to encourage over 12’s into the sport,” Club Secretary Sue Merrett told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We have just started a new group for 11-18 year-olds on a Saturday morning at 9am. The new equipment will also help our adult sessions on Monday evenings.”

“We also have been able to purchase new equipment for toddlers and pre-school sessions. This equipment will also be available to families booking birthday parties.”
