A group of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge gymnasts are celebrating this week after several golden wins at a regional competition.

Monarchs Gymnastics Club were invited to take part in The City of Bristol Acrobatic Gymnastics Open competition where they achieved several successes.

“This was an amazing competition for the Monarchs’ squad. The gymnasts finished with an enormous haul of medals that were taken home by every single gymnast who competed,” said the club’s Mandy Warburton.

Winning bronze were Grade 3 Women’s Group – Faith Hands, Harriet Hobbs & Amelia Wainright; Grade 3 Women’s Pair – Lucy Smith & Mollie Garrod; Grade 4 Women’s Pair – Ella Fields & Grace Johnson; and Grade 4 Women’s Pair – Jess Smith & Lucie Davies.

Silver wins were achieved by Grade 3 Women’s Pair – Amy Dudley & Holly Phillips; Grade 4 Women’s Pair – Kalay Exlay & Isla Jones; and Grade 4 Women’s Pair – Tiegan Lloyd-Williams & Evie Medhurst.

Gold medals were won by Grade 2 Mixed Pair – Louie Reed & Doris Feilds; Grade 3 Mixed Pair – Harvey Crook & Sayba Tucker; Grade 4 Mixed Pair – Eli Keedwell & Leila Tanner-Andrews; and Grade 4 Men’s Pair – Billy Marshall & Harvey Crook.
