Burnham-On-Sea Moose Lodge raises funds for lifeboat appeal

-

Burnham-On-Sea Moose Lodge has raised funds for Burnham RNLI’s new D-class lifeboat appeal by holding a barbecue on Saturday afternoon (July 18th).

The group’s annual Governor’s Barbecue was held at Berrow Village Hall when around 60 Moose brothers and ladies circle members attended.

They munched their way through burgers, sausages, chicken and salad, courtesy of Governor Ron Fisher, Vice Governor Brian Mudge and Assistant Greg Fear, plus the usual invaluable help from the Ladies Circle catering team.

A prize raffle raised £170 with and all profits of the day going towards the Governor’s named charity.

This year’s Governor, Ron Fisher, is also a lifeboat volunteer and it was only natural that he picked the Burnham lifeboat station appeal as his chosen charity for the year.

The lifeboat station has the task of raising £41,000 towards replacing its D-class lifeboat, called Puffin, which is due to be retired by the RNLI next year.
