A new 24-hour prescription collection machine has recently been installed at Burnham-On-Sea Medical Centre and is set to be formally launched on Monday June 16th.
The new automated Prescription Collection Point at Day Lewis Pharmacy outside Burnham Medical Centre in Love Lane enables patients to collect their prescription medication at any time, even when the pharmacy is closed or busy.
A spokesperson says: “The secure Collection Point means that patients will not have to wait in the queue and can access their prescriptions at a time that suits them.”
“The Collection Point is double-sided, allowing patients to access it both inside and outside the Pharmacy.”
Patients can register for free by speaking to the Pharmacy team, or by clicking here. Once registered, the pharmacy sends the patient an SMS message to notify them when their prescription medicines are ready to collect.
“The notification contains a unique access code which the patient enters onto the keypad of the Collection Point, together with their date of birth. A compartment then opens containing a bag of prescription medicines unique to the patient,” adds the spokesperson.
“The Collection Point is a free service that is safe and secure. A special launch day event will be held on Monday 16th June at Burnham Medical Centre, and all members of the community are welcome to attend.”
