Lighting to be improved at Burnham’s Oak Tree Arena speedway track

-

Lighting at the Oak Tree speedway arena on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea is to be revamped in time for the start of the new 2007 Somerset Rebels season.

Somerset Rebels Speedway promoter Mike Golding announced the project on Monday, November 20th.

“I am conscious of the fact that the spectator lighting is virtually non existent, which can only detract from the overall customer experience of watching speedway at the Oak Tree Arena,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“This is especially true of those early and end of season months when the nights starting drawing in and the fans find it virtually impossible to read or fill out their programmes. I have therefore arranged for contractors to come in to look at installing better lighting for the fans, whilst at the same time improving the track lighting, which would not only be of benefit to the riders, but also for the fans in order that they to get a better view of the most exciting speedway action in the Premier League.”

Meanwhile, a new shop at the track is also set to open before Christmas.
