Almost 1,000 people headed to Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor Gardens on Sunday (May 8th) for the first free outdoor music event of the year.

Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clark, pictured above with Cllr Andy Bewer, were among the crowds enjoying Party In The Park on the hottest day of the year so far.

An afternoon of Spring sunshine attracted record crowds for over five hours of free music featuring several popular local groups.

The live acts included Daft Folk, Phil King, as he launched his new album, plus Bouncing Biscuit, Ben and Toby with their Jersey Boys act, Sam Patten, and Nick and Emily.

Organiser Mike Murphy from CADS, the Burnham and Highbridge Cultural Arts and Development Society, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The weather was superb – we couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon. It got the music season off to a great start.”

The next CADS event will be Jazz in the Park on Sunday June 5th, followed by Picnic in the Park on July 3rd, and Highbridge Music Fest at the Recreation Park in Highbridge on Sunday August 7th.
