Police seal off town centre street after robbery on amusement arcade

Police sealed off a street in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea late on Friday night, November 11th, after an armed robbery at an amusement arcade.

Police officers told Burnham-On-Sea.com they were investigating reports that a staff member at the amusement arcade beneath Shakers night club in the High Street had been threatened by a man wielding a knife shortly after 10pm.

The suspect – who police described as wearing jeans and a dark coloured top – was believed to have run away along neighbouring Adam Street with a large amount of cash.

Adam Street was sealed off and traffic redirected along Burnham High Street, as pictured above, while officers with sniffer dogs scoured the area. The street was later re-opened.

Anyone with further information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. You do not have to give your name and could receive a reward.
