Man dies after fall at Burnham-On-Sea High Street night club

A 37-year-old Burnham-On-Sea man has died after apparently falling down the steps in a night-time accident at a High Street night club.

Jonathan Cotton of Dyrham Close, Burnham, died after the incident at Shakers Night Club, pictured.

He was taken to Weston General Hospital but died later.

Sgt Roger Tolley of Burnham Police said: “There was an incident at Shakers where a man fell. We weren’t called but we were in the area, although he declined any assistance from us and the ambulance crews as far as I am aware.”

“As far as we know he was taken to hospital by friends or family and there has been no further police investigation.”

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and it has been passed to the coroner. The funeral service for Mr Cotton was held at St Andrew’s Church and was followed by a cremation at Taunton Deane Crematorium.
