Burnham-On-Sea man suffers fractures to face during ‘assault’

A Burnham-On-Sea man has been rushed to Bristol Royal Infirmary with multiple fractures to his face after an incident in Weston-super-Mare.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident outside Yates Wine Lodge in York Street, Weston at about 10.30pm on Saturday, October 1st.

The injured man, believed to be in his 20s and from Burnham, suffered multiple face injuries after the alleged assault near a fire exit.

A 28-year-old man from the Weston-super-Mare area was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident and has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“It is believed at least one other person was in the York Street area at the time and may have witnessed the incident,” said a police spokesman.

“We are now appealing for this person or anyone else with information relating to this incident to contact Weston-super-Mare CID via the force non-emergency number 0845 4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
