3,000 homes in Burnham-On-Sea were without electricity on Tuesday evening (September 16th) after a power cut.

Western Power Distribution told Burnham-On-Sea.com that 3,000 homes were briefly without supplies following the cut which began at 5.38pm.

“Most customers were re-connected within three minutes, but 640 customers were still without power at 9pm,” said a Western Power spokesman.

He added: “The outage was caused by several conductors coming down in Braithwaite Place. We apologise for the inconvenience to customers.”

The last homes were reconnected soon after 11.30pm.
