Both Burnham-On-Sea lifeboats launched to find ‘missing person’

Both Burnham-On-Sea RNLI’s D Class and Atlantic 75 lifeboats were launched shortly after midnight on Sunday May 1 to help police and Coastguards search for a 45-year-old male who was reported to be missing at Brean.

A full search of the coastline was conducted by the RNLI’s crews until police said the man had been found safe and well and called the search off. The boats were stood down at approximately 00:30 hours.

Burnham-On-Sea Lifeboat Operations Manager Martin Cox praised his crew members’ response, saying: “We had a very good turnout of crew members for this time of night – it was a superb response.”
