Torrential rain failed to halt a special outdoor theatre performance of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet in Brent Knoll on Saturday night (July 27th).

Alfresco drama company The Festival Players performed the story of young love and family fueds despite heavy rainfall throughout much of the evening.

“Spectators brought umbrellas and the show went on despite the weather,” organiser John Harper told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “The numbers were down on what we’d hoped for, but we thank all those who braved the conditions!”

The performance at Ivy Hall in Brent Knoll was held in aid of the ABF The Soldier’s Charity and St Michael’s Church Fabric Fund.
