Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club increase security after two thefts

-

Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club has increased security following two thefts over the past week.

An outboard motor was stolen from a boat moored on the club’s pontoons during the early hours of Friday morning.

Earlier in the week, thieves entered the club’s boat yard on The Esplanade and damaged a boat when they took away equipment.

Burnham Sailing Club Commodore Eric Torkildsen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Extra bank patrols and surveillance have been put in place and we have informed the Police as well.”

“We would ask walkers and residents in the area to keep an eye out for us and report anything suspicious to the Police.”

Anyone with information about the incidents or how they happened should contact Burnham-On-Sea Police on 101.
