Thirty of the UK’s leading sand yachting enthusiasts are in action on Brean beach this weekend, competing in the British Land Yachting Championships.
The two-day event is being organised by Brean Land Yacht Club and began on Saturday and continues on Sunday 13th, with racing due to start at 10.30am, weather permitting.
Last year’s event was cancelled due to a lack of wind, as Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here.
During ideal conditions, the yachts speed across the sand at up to 60mph, making quite a spectacle.
