More than 250 Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Explorers from across Sedgemoor gathered on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Tuesday evening (June 9th) for a mass sandcastle building competition.

Youngsters from Burnham, Highbridge, Berrow, Cheddar, Bridgwater and Berrow were among the groups who took part in the 15th annual contest besides the jetty.

Dozens of cartoon-themed entries were dug in the sand, including boats, castles, planes and cars!

Scout Leaders Lorna Walter and James Morgan said they were delighted with how the event had gone.

Lorna told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a fantastic evening with superb weather and a very good turnout. This event brings together our groups from across the district for a fun evening.”
