Burnham-On-Sea Police issue appeal after assault in seafront bar

Police are seeking witnesses following an assault incident at a bar in Burnham-On-Sea.

Officers have issued an appeal following the early morning incident last weekend on The Esplanade.

A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of a disturbance at Vinnie’s Bar on The Esplanade at about 1.40am on Saturday 24th November.”

“A man and woman were reported to have caused a large amount of disorder and violence.”

“The male suspect fled from the premises and was followed by officers who detained and arrested him shortly afterwards. A woman was arrested at the bar.”

“A number of staff members had been assaulted.”

“The man and woman arrested have been released under investigation.”

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the public house at the time of the incident who may be able to help our enquiries.”
