Residents show ‘true grit’ to clear snow path along Burnham seafront

-

A group of residents has used shovels, brooms and sacks of grit to clear a pathway through the snow and ice along Burnham-On-Sea’s Esplanade.

Many walkers have been unable to safely use the seafront following last week’s heavy snowfall, which left it in a treacherous condition.

So Louise and Harry Parkin and several friends picked up their tools on Monday (January 11th) to clear a pathway from the Pavilion to Bay View Cafe, as pictured here.

“We thought we’d use a bit of ‘Dunkirk Spirit’ and something back into the community,” Louise told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It was done with five bags of grit, some ‘true grit’ and a few blisters!”

“I don’t blame the council for the state of the seafront as all councils are financially challenged.”
