Dozens of children from across the district competed in the annual Sedgemoor Schools Biathlon Championships in Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (February 26th).

Organised by Burnham Swim and Sports Academy, the event saw 118 youngsters competing in running and swimming races through the day with the outdoor races held in Burnham’s Manor Gardens.

Organiser Martin Rogers said the event had been a great success. “We had a great turnout of children from many local schools, along with family, friends and teachers all cheering their teams on.”

“Supported by our fabulous team of volunteers and officials, this was a wonderful event and our congratulations go to all involved and a huge thank you!”

St Andrew’s School in Burnham-On-Sea was crowned the Sedgemoor Schools Biathlon Large Schools Champions. The top Small School Biathlon Champions are Nether Stowey Primary School, and the top Open/Visitors School Biathlon Champions is Sidcot School.
