A unique display of sheep and tractors will be set-up in the town centre during this Saturday’s Burnham-On-Sea Food and Drink Festival.

Bridgwater firm Hawkins Agriculture will be bringing a selection of their British-built New Holland tractors to the festival on 25th October.

They will be joined by a flock of Wiltshire Horn sheep from Somerset Rare Breeds Farm, which will be on display in Burnham’s Princess Street from 9am on Saturday (October 25th).

Festival organiser Sarah Milner Simonds said: “Making stronger links between the town and the countryside are very important to us and the ethos of the festival.”

“We are thrilled to have secured the support of Hawkins Agriculture for this month’s festival – their British-build tractors are top of the range and we hope that families enjoy learning more about them.”

Festival co-organisers Bev and Sarah Milner Simonds say this week’s event will be Somerset’s largest food festival.

92 traders will offer tastings, samples and opportunities for visitors to hear the stories behind the products, which will range from local Somerset specialities like cider and cheese to Japanese cuisine and chocolate made from goat’s milk.

The festival will also include the Great Burnham Bake Off, Burnham Brew Off and the Burnham Burn Off competitions.

Stalls will be set up in Victoria Street, College Street and Princess Street plus three further venues – the Baptist Hall, Methodist Church and Princess Theatre.
