Crew member Roger Keen, who organised the event, said: “It’s been a great day – we attracted 16 teams of three players including several England and county players.”

Meanwhile, a Burnham couple will be taking a flight on the hovercraft later this summer, having won the raffle. Pete Pengelly of Lynton Road said he and wife Bridget were “very much looking forward to the trip.”

The overall event was won by a Taunton team called Comytrowe and the runners-up came from Middlezoy.

Money raised at the event went towards funding maintainance of the hovercraft, which costs more than £20,000 a year to run.
