Sky-diving Rosemary completes 15,000ft fundraising leap!

-

A plucky Highbridge Post Office staff member has raised hundreds of pounds for a local charity by completing a 15,000ft tandem skydive.

Rosemary Le-Marchand, 56, travelled to Devon’s Dunkerswell Airfield on Friday (July 3rd) where she leapt from a plane in aid of the Freewheelers Bloodbikes.

“As soon as we jumped out, we did a backward flip and several spirals as the plane disappeared above me,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It was an incredibly exhilarating experience and the view beneath me was absolutely stunning. It was fantastic – I want to do it again!”

Now safely back in Highbridge, where she works at the town’s post office, Rosemary said she hopes the stunt will have raised around £500 for the Freewheeler Bloodbikes.

Allan Roberts, from the Freewheelers, said: “We are exceptionally grateful to Rosemary. Funding like this is greatly appreciated.”

There’s still time to donate money to Rosemary – you can either call in at Highbridge Post Office or visit her fundraising page here. The Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service, based in the South West, provides an out-of-hours emergency motorcycle courier service to hospitals across the region.
