A ribbon was cut to open a new ‘buy and sell’ shop in Burnham-On-Sea town centre on Saturday (April 8th).

Mayor Michael Clarke cut a ribbon to mark the launch of SmartXchange at 16 Regent Street.

The store’s Leanne Hunt told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After starting a small business selling online, the natural progression was clearly to move into a premises.”

“As there are already similar companies in surrounding towns we thought bringing SmartXchange to Burnham-On-Sea would be ideal for locals so they didn’t have to travel or if they couldn’t travel very easily.”

“We will have a variety of goods in the shop. Anything from toys, home wares, electricals, fitness, beauty and tools plus many more.”

“We have a good supply of new goods coming in to the store regularly but will also be buying items new/good condition from customers which will then be sold on. We can also provide a 0% interest pay weekly scheme to customers not able to buy higher priced items in one payment.”

“We have had a lot of good feedback from passers-by so are hopeful for the future.”

The Mayor welcomed the opening, saying: “It’s great to see another new trader opening in Burnham, showing the confidence in our town. The shop is selling a wide varirty of products and offering a useful new service for Burnham.”
