The winners of a summer shopping treasure trail in Burnham-On-Sea have beeen announced this week.

Dozens of shops and businesses across Burnham-On-Sea town centre displayed cryptic clues in their windows as part of a special initiative organised by the town’s Chamber of Trade to coincide with the school holidays.

Each clue featured a nautical validation symbol and the public was invited to see if they could follow the trail around the town centre and be in with a chance of winning a £100 cash prize.

The £100 prize was shared by Noah and Isaac Browne while the runner-up was Katie Rendell.

A Burnham Chamber of Trade spokesman said: “We were pleased that the treasure hunt attracted more people into our town centre over the summer holidays.”

“The competition successfully encouraged people to explore Burnham’s great range of independent shops and the large variety of goods on sale. We look forward to holding further competitions in the future.”

The winners are pictured receiving their award from sponsor Material Needs and the Chamber of Trade’s Alex Turco on Saturday.
