Travellers have this week pitched up on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront lawns and at a local green space.
The first group of caravans, towing vehicles and motorhomes are occupying the grassed area on the South Esplanade near Burnham Holiday Village.
The land is owned by Somerset Council and a spokesperson says: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment and are following the usual legal process.”
A second group has also this week pitched up on an area of green space off Burnham’s Hawley Way close to Love Lane.
Somerset Council has begun its process of moving them on in both locations.
