Two people were taken to hospital following a crash on the M5 near Burnham-On-Sea this morning (Friday, May 24th).

The car pictured here overturned between the junctions for Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-On-Sea just after 6am, partially blocking two lanes on the southbound carriageway.

This caused traffic delays for motorists with nearby alternative routes also becoming congested.

A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called at 6.09am about a road traffic incident on the M5 southbound near junction 21.”

“Our ambulance crew treated two patients at the scene, and took them to hospital for further treatment.”

Police and fire service crews also attended.
