Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called in the early hours of Friday morning (November 28th) to tackle a van blaze on the M5 motorway.

Two fire appliances from Burnham were sent to junction 22 of the M5 where a van was in flames.

“Crews confirmed a transit van was well alight on the entry slip to the motorway,” said a spokesman.

“They used two hose reel jets whilst wearing breathing apparatus sets to extinguish the fire shortly before 12.30am.”

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental, added the fire service.
