Visitors welcome at Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge history talk this Wednesday

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge residents will be invited to step back in time this week for an illustrated talk on the town’s history.

North Sedgemoor Local History Group is holding a special talk by Pat Nicholls this Wednesday, 10th April, featuring historic characters connected with the two towns.

“Some more interesting people connected with Burnham and Highbridge will be revealed in the illustrated talk at The North Sedgemoor Local History Group’s latest meeting,” said Pat.

“I have researched some nationally famous characters, and some local eccentrics.”

“From ice creams, through Spa Baths, angels, war time pilots to a steam powered motorbike, the towns have been the home of a Lord High Chancellor, a hymn writer and a local councillor who was also a cabaret dancer.”

The History Group meets at 7pm in the Lecture Hall at King Alfred School Academy when visitors will be welcome.
