Members of a youth theatre group from across the Burnham-On-Sea area are set to perform the classic Singin’ In The Rain.

Mark Youth Theatre is in final rehearsals for the shows, which will be held at Strode Theatre in Street from March 28th to March 30th.

The group comprises of talented young people aged 9-19 who attend local schools and colleges in the Burnham-On-Sea area.

Co-director Clare Banwell, who is working on the performances with fellow co-director Laura Jones, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The young people have been working hard to put together this show for four months.”

“We all feel that Singin’ In The Rain, with its hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit parade score of Hollywood standards, make this one of the greatest movie musicals of all time.”

“It has all the makings of a Tinsel Town tabloid headline – the starlet, the leading man, and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers!”

“The show features well-known, catchy songs like Singing’ In The Rain, Make ‘Em Laugh, Good Morning and All I Do Is Dream Of You.”

She adds that the production promises to be entertaining for all the family.  “It may be a new show to you or one you are familiar with.”

The shows will be held on Thursday March 28th at 7.30pm, Friday March 29th at 7.30pm, Saturday March 30th at 2.30pm and Saturday March 30th at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10, £7 for concessions are available by calling the theatre on 01458 442848 (Mon-Sat 10-2) or online here.
