West Huntspill car crash leaves motorist with “potentially life-threatening injuries”

Police say an elderly motorist has been left with “potentially life-threatening injuries” after her car crashed into a wall in West Huntspill on Wednesday (September 11th).

The A38 Main Road was closed shortly after 12pm following the collision. 

Police spokesman Sam Malone told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Emergency services were called just after mid-day to a single-vehicle collision on the A38 Main Road at West Huntspill.”

“A car was in collision with a wall. The elderly female driver went to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.”

“The road was closed in both directions for collision investigators to examine the scene.”

A South West Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 12.05pm to reports of a road traffic collision, reportedly involving one vehicle.”

“We attended with HART (hazardous area response team), a rapid response vehicle, a doctor, an operations officer and an ambulance. One patient was taken to hospital for further treatment.”
