Two long-time friends from the Burnham-On-Sea area are marking a major milestone this month as their community-focused fitness venture, Jacked Gym, celebrates its first anniversary — with an expansion to be unveiled.
Founders Jack Parfitt and Ed Moody, whose friendship stretches back nearly two decades, opened the doors to Jacked Gym, based at Premier Business Park, Highbridge TA9 3DE, in July 2024.
It has the goal of creating a high-quality, inclusive space for local residents to train, get healthier, and feel part of something bigger.
They are holding an open day at the facilities this Saturday (July 12th) from 10.30am-5pm when all are welcome to enjoy a free day pass.
Their journey began with a shared vision and the hands-on know-how from their own trades — Jack, of Smart Render Somerset, and Ed, of EGM Carpentry & Building Ltd.
Together, they transformed their dream into reality, supported by friends who pitched in during both the initial build and recent upgrades.
Now, just 12 months later, the gym is doubling in size, officially launching a new Cardio Suite equipped with Life Fitness treadmills and bikes, Concept2 rowers and ski-ergs, and state-of-the-art HYROX-style training gear.
“We built this gym for the community — a place where people of all fitness levels feel welcome,” said Jack.
“Seeing how far it’s come in just one year has been incredibly rewarding.”
Services now available at Jacked Gym include: Personal Training, Group Fitness Classes, Nutrition & Diet Support, Shower & Changing Facilities, 24/7 Access, 365 Days a Year.
Ed added: “It’s more than just fitness — it’s about confidence, support, and belonging. Our members aren’t just numbers.”
The gym’s fast-growing reputation for its friendly atmosphere and top-tier equipment has drawn praise from local residents — and with its doors open around the clock, Jacked Gym looks set to continue making waves in the local fitness scene.
