Burnham and Highbridge Air Cadets receive funding boost from Tesco

-

Burnham and Highbridge Air Cadets have received a £1,000 funding boost after being selected in the Tesco Stronger Starts customer vote held in local Tesco stores.

The squadron says it is “delighted” with the award and has thanked shoppers who supported them.

The funding has been used to further improve the flexibility of the group’s IT infrastructure, allowing simultaneous activities requiring IT support to run in all rooms.

A spokesperson said the upgrade has already made a significant difference, particularly as cadet numbers have more than doubled over the past year.

With members aged between 12 and 17, the squadron delivers a wide range of training tailored to different age groups, and the improved IT setup is helping them make better use of their available space.

Training Officer Jeff Jackson said the investment is “to the overall benefit of the cadet experience.”

The squadron has also updated its contact arrangements. It no longer has a landline number, but can now receive post via its new registered address: RAF Air Cadets, Highbridge Road, TA8 1LS.

Those using satnav are advised to ignore the marker on the Police Station and instead look for the Air Cadets location, which is correctly labelled opposite Cassis Close.
