Oops! Biker gets sinking feeling as machine stranded in Burnham mud

-

The owner of this motorbike got a sinking feeling when his machine became trapped in thick mud on
Burnham-On-Sea’s beach on Sunday afternoon (February 17th).

The scrambler had been riding along the beach close to the town’s pier when his machine sank into the notorious mud at around 3pm, sparking a rescue bid by sympathetic passers-by.

A crowd of spectators gathered along the seafront to watch the incident – pictured here – unfold.

The bike was stuck for more than 15 minutes as the group struggled to pull it free, with the incoming tide edging ever closer.

Luckily for the bike’s relieved owner, the machine was eventually pulled free and the loss of another vehicle to the mud was averted. In recent years, Burnham-On-Sea.com has reported on several vehicles that have been trapped – and even lost – to the mud.
